Snowmobiling in the winter wonderland of the upper peninsula is a fantastic experience for the whole family lasting well into March or April. We are only four miles off a groomed trail that connects to miles of outstanding scenic snowmobiling options including quiet underused logging roads where you can enjoy the wilderness without the crowds. Skiing choices include the Porcupine Mountains only 45 miles west near Ontonagon. Mount Ripley is 30 miles north in Houghton and Mount Bohemia is nearby featuring the Midwest's steepest vertical drop with expert only and intermediate runs. The UP of Michigan is a hunters paradise for deer or bear. Our 102 private acres border the vast Ottawa National Forest and for gun, bow, or small game hunting we have it all right here. A natural yarding area for large bucks, we also provide baiting and guide services at a reasonable cost. Fantastic fishing opportunities include several inland freshwater lakes and rivers within minutes of our cabins. The Keweenaw Bay of Lake Superior is nearby and offers some of the best lake trout fishing in the Midwest. Just down the road from Silver Mountain, our resort is located near great hiking areas where the feel of being in the wilderness still exists. If canoeing or kayaking is what you are looking to find, we are only a half mile from a public access to the Sturgeon River, a gorgeous waterway that the whole family can enjoy.
